THE WALKER AIR CONDITIONING STORY

  Walker heating and appliance company was founded by the late Richard F. Walker in 1945, after returning from W.W.II and working for the Titche-Goettinger company installing floor furnaces. He began by buying several of Titche's old panel trucks at auctions, keeping one and selling the rest to pay for his. Operating from his garage, he knocked on doors at night, selling floor furnaces and installing them the next day, soon developing a reputation for personal service and integrity which has endured for over 60 years!

  Central Heating was soon added to Mr. Walker's services and the company continued to grow. By the early 1950's, Room Air Conditioners were added and appliances were dropped. The company name was then changed to Walker Heating and Air Conditioning Company, and Central Air Conditioning was added to the services offered.

  In the 1950's, 1960's and early 1970's, Walker Heating and Air Conditioning Company, operated out of the original location at 2522 South Beckley Avenue, became the largest and best known heating and air conditioning company south of the Trinity River being an exclusive distributor of Friedrich Central Heating, Central Air Conditioning, and Friedrich Room Air Conditioning products and services.

   Even after Mr. Walker's death in 1973, the business continued to grow and expand to cover the entire DFW MetroPlex through the efforts of the Walker sons. In August 1970, Walker Air Conditioning, Inc. was founded by Charles F. Walker to serve the North Dallas area. Originally located at Royal Lane and Harry Hines Boulevard, this company grew to include a south location at 2446 N. IH-35E, and now, the new Collin County location is 18352 Dallas Parkway #360343, Dallas, Tx. 75287.

   Walker Air Conditioning, Inc. became an authorized Carrier Heating and Air Conditioning dealer in 1982, after Friedrich Central Heating and Air Conditioning was bought and absorbed by another manufacturer. This merger of Walker's reputation for personal service and customer satisfaction and Carrier's reputation for quality and state-of-the-art engineering provides unparalleled value for even the most discriminating customer.

   Into the new millennium, Walker Air Conditioning Associates continues to offer Richard F. Walker's brand of personal service and unquestioned integrity with tomorrow's excellence featuring American Standard Central Heating and Air Conditioning products along with other related comfort items.
